Anti-reset windup
Controller logic that stops integral action accumulating while the output is at a limit.
What it means
Anti-reset windup holds or unwinds the integral term whenever the output is saturated, so that the controller comes off the limit as soon as the error reverses rather than some time afterwards.
Every modern control system implements it, and the setting is frequently just not enabled — particularly on loops that were never expected to saturate and then started doing so after a process change.
