What the service is

PIDSnap is a software service that reads photographs of trend screens and controller faceplates and returns observation-gated tuning steps: which constant to move, the exact value to move it to, and a read of what happened when you did.

What the service is not

PIDSnap is a software tool. It has no connection to any control system and no knowledge of your plant beyond what you show it. It is not a controller, it is not an engineering sign-off, and it is not for use on safety-instrumented systems, interlocks, or loops whose adjustment forms part of a verified safety function. The decision about whether to act on any value it computes is yours.

The safety disclaimer

Everything PIDSnap produces is informational. It has no connection to your control system and no knowledge of your plant beyond what you show it. You remain responsible for every change you make, for the safety of the process, and for working within your own management-of-change and permit systems. PIDSnap accepts no liability for any incident, trip, shutdown, loss of production or damage arising from its use.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for what happens under your account. Do not use the service to store data you are not entitled to handle.

Acceptable use

Use the service for what it is for: reading and tuning industrial control loops you are responsible for. Do not use it to attempt to access systems you are not authorised to touch, or to store or transmit anything unlawful.

The per-session licence

Payment for a tuning session buys the work of that session: the instructions to change constants, and the read of what happened. It is a licence to use the software's output for your own plant, not a transfer of any part of the service.

Payment terms

Each tuning session is a one-off purchase; PIDSnap does not sell subscriptions. You are charged from the first instruction to change a value, not for the outcome. The conditions under which the payment is returned are set out in how refunds work.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PIDSnap and its operator accept no liability for any incident, trip, shutdown, loss of production or damage arising from use of the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.

Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the consumer law of your own country.

Changes and termination

These terms may change; material changes will be dated here. You may stop using the service at any time, and may delete your account. We may suspend or terminate an account that is being used in a way that harms the service or other users.
